Separate fast and slow crops
Wheat and corn can be replaced quickly during active play. Longer crops deserve a larger reserve before an overnight queue or an order-heavy session.
Plant for the next absence
Short crops suit time at the screen; long crops suit work, sleep or travel. Matching growth time to your schedule reduces both empty fields and unwanted surplus.
Watch feed demand
Animal feed repeatedly consumes core crops. A beautiful crop balance that ignores feed recipes will still leave animals waiting and production chains short of inputs.
Sell before the harvest wall
When fields are ready and the silo is nearly full, list surplus first. Small, varied bundles often move more reliably than filling every shop slot with the same crop.
Silo targets should follow replacement time and recipe demand, not equal quantities of every crop.
